OLA, Idaho (CBS2) — Crews continue progressing as they work to contain the Goldrun fire burning near Ola, Idaho.
The Goldrun fire, which began on July 18 and is believed to be caused by humans, is now at 20% containment as of Saturday morning.
There has not been any further growth to the fire, which has burned 806 acres, though the fire does continue to burn within the containment lines crews have created.
Crews will begin to mop up the fire today by cooling hot areas, checking if fire lines are secure and removing hazardous trees that could fall across the fire line, allowing the fire to spread into unburned areas or be a public safety issue.
Holbrooke Lane is closed while crews work to remove trees, and firefighters are actively working along High Valley Road on foot and with heavy equipment. Use caution when driving in the area.
