(CNN) -- In a summer filled with music festivals, this year's Guinness Fleadh stood out as one of the more original gatherings.

Billed as the finest display of Irish musical talent ever assembled, the Fleadh (pronounced flah, it means festival in Gaelic) toured from New York to Chicago to San Francisco in June, with feature acts like The Corrs, The Chieftains, Sinead O'Connor, Richard Thompson, Squeeze, and Billy Bragg.

Not all the acts were Irish, though. Wilco, Tracy Chapman, Los Lobos and John Lee Hooker entertained the masses with their brand of music.

Each festival also included stages that featured Irish poetry, theater and dance.

The festival started in London in 1990, and expanded stateside last year.
