Zendikar Rising arrived with the 2020 Standard rotation in Magic: The Gathering and the set contains several cards worth money.
Released via tabletop on Sept. 25, 2020, Zendikar Rising contains a total of 280 cards and features the return of Landfall. It also introduced Modal Double-Faced cards to Magic. Better known as MDFCs, these cards are a basic land on one side and a spell on the other. They can also be two basic lands, with either side offering different mana.
The fall 2021 Standard rotation took place on Sept. 24, removing four MTG sets from the format. Only minor ZNR price changes took place following rotation. Prices continued to dip slightly via the releases of Innistrad: Midnight Hunt (MID) and Innistrad: Crimson VOW (VOW).
Minor changes occurred with the global launch of Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty (NEO), leaving a total of five non-foil cards valued at $10 or higher. But many of the Zendikar Rising Expeditions (ZNE) cards are worth money, with three of the lands valued at $100 or higher.
Cards from ZNR and ZNE that are worth money are listed in descending order. Updates will take place with the release of each new MTG Standard-legal set and after major Magic tournaments.
From Sorcery spells to a multicolor elemental, here are the ZNR and ZNE Magic cards worth money, according to prices on MTGGoldfish and MTGStocks.
Zendikar Rising Expeditions
WotC included ZNE with Zendikar Rising. The cards were box toppers for the ZNR set and are found within ZNR collector booster packs. The Masterpiece Series contained 30 of the best MTG lands ever printed that aren’t legal to play within the Standard format.
Here are the top nine foil ZNE lands worth over $70, according to prices on MTGStocks.
Cavern of Souls
Legal in the MTG formats Legacy, Modern, Commander, and Vintage, the Cavern of Souls foil ZNE version is valued at around $155.
Bloodstained Mire
Priced at around $100, Bloodstained Mire is banned from gameplay in the Pioneer format. The land is legal to play in Legacy, Modern, Commander, Vintage, and Frontier.
Polluted Delta
Polluted Delta is legal to play in the MTG formats Legacy, Modern, Commander, and Vintage. The ZNE reprint is valued at around $100.
Ancient Tomb
Legal to play in the Legacy, Vintage, and Commander formats, the ZNE Ancient Tomb version is valued at around $88.
Wooded Foothills
Priced at around $80, Wooded Foothills is legal to play the MTG formats Legacy, Modern, Commander, and Vintage.
Misty Rainforest
Legal to play in Legacy, Modern, Commander, and Vintage, the ZNE foil version of Misty Rainforest is valued at around $77.
Flooded Strand
The UW land is valued at around $75 and is legal to play within Legacy, Modern, Commander, and Vintage.
Scalding Tarn
Legal to play within the MTG formats Legacy, Modern, Commander, and Vintage, the ZNE foil version of Scalding Tarn is worth around $77.
Windswept Heath
Priced at around $75, Windswept Heath is legal to play in the Legacy, Modern, Commander, and Vintage MTG formats.
Agadeem’s Awakening//Agadeem, the Undercrypt
A Black Modal DFC Sorcery, Agadeem’s Awakening became the top-valued ZNR card due to its inclusion within the Dimir Rogues deck prior to the 2021 Standard rotation. Reanimation builds also used Agadeem’s Awakening, taking advantage of the land on its backside.
The extended-art foil version of Agadeem’s Awakening//Agadeem, the Undercrypt is valued at around $33 and the non-foil version is about $27. There’s a foil version of the ZNR Sorcery spell priced at $19 and a prerelease foil promo worth around $24. The regular version of Agadeem’s Awakening is valued at around $18.
Sea Gate Restoration
Sea Gate, Reborn//Sea Gate Restoration was released with a value of less than $5. Finding a home within Commander and Modern decks, the Dual-Faced Mono-Blue spell/land rose in price. There is an extended-art foil version valued at around $37. Other variants are priced between $18 and $24 while the regular ZNR version of Sea Gate, Reborn//Sea Gate Restoration is worth $16.
Omnath, Locus of Creation
Seeing gameplay in the Commander and Modern format, Omnath, Locus of Creation is a four-color Legendary creature. The elemental was suspended from the Standard format just 18 days after the launch of ZNR and was officially banned on Oct. 12, 2020.
Omnath, Locus of Creation has a Showcase foil version priced at around $30 while its prerelease foil promo is worth around $20. Other variations are valued between $11 and $19. The regular ZNR version of Omnath, Locus of Creation is worth $11.
Ancient Greenwarden
Ancient Greenwarden is a Mythic Rare Elemental with Reach in Green. The elemental has an extended-art foil version priced at about $20. All other variations run from $11 to $14. And the regular version of Ancient Greenwarden is worth $10.
Lithoform Engine
Lithoform Engine is a Mythic Rare Artifact that’s slotted into a number of Commander decks. The legendary Artifact has an extended-art foil version priced at around $17 while the prerelease promo foil is valued at $16. All other variants of Lithoform Engine are under $10, including the regular version which is priced at around $9.50.
Shatterskull Smashing
Once sitting under $5, Shatterskull Smashing had its value revived following the 2021 Standard rotation. The Sorcery speed spell has an extended-art foil version and prerelease promo foil variant that are both valued at around $20. The non-foil extended is $15 and all other variants are under $10.
Ashaya, Soul of the Wild
Ashaya, Soul of the Wild is a Mythic Rare Legendary Elemental that thrives off the number of lands on the battlefield. The elemental has an extended-art foil version valued at around $28 and a prerelease foil promo worth around $18. All other versions are priced at under $10 with the regular ZNR version of Ashaya, Soul of the Wild worth $9.
